    For Your Information

    Sunday Hours: The Main Library will begin its Sunday schedule on January 8th. We will open from 1-5. The Children's Department will host our first Sunday program BATTY ABOUT BATS! at 2pm. Ages 4+, drop in program. Look forward to our Art Lecture series and Concert Series on Sundays as well.

    ESL Conversation Group: The ESL conversation group will move to the Barney Library for the winter and meet on Tuesdays from 10:15-11am. Come and practice basic English in an informal setting from Jan 24-Feb 14.

    Children's Programs begin on January 17th at the Main Library and 24th of January at the Barney Library. Click here for the Main Library's schedule and registration form.

    Winter Concerts: The Hartford Brass Quintet will present our first concert on Sunday, January 29th at 2pm.

    World on a Book Truck: The Farmington Valley Libraries (including the Farmington Library) now have books in Russian, Spanish, Korean and Japanese. They are located in the lobby right near the fireplace.

    Jan 23: Chinese New Year Film, Drifters, the story of Er Di, a Chinese man expelled from the U.S. for working illegally. When his American born son visits China, Er Di is forbidden to see him.     Jan 29: Hartford Brass Quintet, The Hartford Brass Quintet brings together some of the finest and most experienced brass players in Connecticut. Members include Fred Bagnall on the trombone, Roger Caruk playing the horn, Daniel Green on the tuba, and Peter Olson and Leslie Rottner playing the trumpets. 2pm.
    Jan 30: Chinese New Year Film, Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, book and film written by Sijie Dai, about two young men being reducated in rural China who introduce great western novels to their friends. Also Mandarin with English subtitles. 7pm.
