Teacher Resources
The Farmington Library offers many services to help promote reading in local schools.
As the Teen Services Librarian, I can help you organize a school tour for your class at the Main Branch of the Farmington Library.
I can visit your school to talk about new books, infoAnytime our Online Reference Services and how to use the Library’s resources to research a class assignment.
I can help you find an online reading list of recommended books on a variety of topics, and I can create a custom reading lists for your class based on a subject or topic.
Online Database Workshops
Free one-hour workshops teach students how to use the Library's online resources (online newspapers, magazines, journals and encyclopedias) for homework and research. Students also learn information literacy skills - how to evaluate online information.
Farmington middle school and high school teachers or school officials may sign-up for a workshop for up to 20 students. A completed registration form should dropped off, mailed or faxed to the Teen Services Librarian at least three weeks in advance of the requested date.
